My Visit to Chobani New York

Yogurt, like yoga, salads, workout leggings, and bizarrely green juices, has become all the rage in the last few years. Greek yogurt has risen to fame in particular because of it's thick, creamy texture and plentiful health benefits. Chobani is one of the major purveyors of Greek yogurt in the states, and they were smart enough to open up a flagship store in Soho back in 2007. This store sells the usual Chobani flavors, but also offers customizable Chobani "mix-ins" that are made in-store and served in small glass containers. They offer mix-in combinations such as peanut butter and jelly, fig and walnut, and pistachio and dark chocolate.

Being the chocoholic that I am, I could not turn down Chobani's pistachio and dark chocolate yogurt creation. The full list of components in the pistachio and dark chocolate option were pistachio, dark chocolate, honey, mint, and orange segments. I personally could have done without the mint--it clashed with the rest of the flavors. But the orange segments, pistachio, and dark chocolate blended harmoniously with the creamy Chobani yogurt.

Overall, I would come back to the Chobani store to try another one of their custom creations. But maybe next time I would go with the peanut butter and jelly or even their fig and walnut. Something about the mint just didn't do it for me.
