Best Salads in DC

Best Bang for Your Buck = Chop't -- Chop't salads cost about $9-12 dollars and they give you tons of lettuce, meat, and toppings. They've also got the most variety in toppings and they make their salads fast. Perfect for a quick lunch. Try the Kebab Cobb with their Tzatziki Yogurt Dressing.

Best Salad To Keep You Full = Sweetgreen Grain Bowl -- The grain bowl is a combination of farro and quinoa, both of which are protein rich super-foods and will keep you satisfied for hours. Try their Earth Bowl salad made with warm grains, chicken, cheddar and broccoli.

Best (reasonably priced) Salads with Seafood = Clyde's -- Clyde's has several locations throughout the DC metropolitan area, all of which offer a wide variety of cuisines and plenty of options. Their entree salads are very well-done, especially their two salads with seafood on them--the chilled shrimp salad with orange segments, avocado, and fried shallots, and their wild Alaskan salmon salad with bulgur wheat, pita crisps, and feta cheese. The shrimp salad is my personal favorite.

Best Pre-made Salad = Pret A Manger -- Their ingredients are fresh and the salads are prepared daily on location. They've got a wide variety of options (such as Market Salad, Albacore Tuna, Falafel Meze, Wild Salmon) that are all unique, and they give you the calorie count for each option in-store. Try their Vegan Market Salad with avocado, quinoa, corn, and carrot slaw.

Best Exotic Salad -- Mai Thai = Mai Thai's food is delicious, authentic, and inexpensive. Their unique Thai salads include their mango salad, composed of julienned mango, red onions, and cilantro, and their papaya salad, made with julienned papaya, string beans, tomatoes, carrots, and peanuts. Both are great, but the papaya salad has more flavor and the peanuts add a nice textural element.

Best Salad & Something Combo = Panera -- The You Pick 2 combo at Panera is a life-saver. When you want a little salad but also half a sandwich or soup, it's the perfect option. Try their Thai Chopped Chicken Salad with edamame, chicken, and spicy peanut dressing.

Best Non-Salad Salad = The Tombs "The Hoya Salad" -- This "salad" is comprised of lettuce, grilled chicken, black beans, sour cream, ranch dressing, cheddar cheese, and roasted corn atop a warm pizza crust. So it's basically a pizza.
