TaKorean Review

TaKorean, a fusion of Korean and Mexican spices and cooking styles, helped pioneer the DC food truck trend in 2010 and has now settled down to a more permanent location in Union Market (don't worry, their food truck is still up and running). TaKorean is fast, east, and relatively inexpensive for DC dining.

Starting at $1.50 each, TaKorean rolls out tacos made with either steak, chicken, or tofu. From there, you can decide which sauce and slaw you want to use to deck out your Korean style tacos. TaKorean also offers a taco "bowl" option ($9), where the meat, sauce, and slaw are emptied onto rice instead of a taco shell.

Whether you go for the taco or the bowl, it's a win-win situation. The meats are expertly marinated and the sauces are well prepared and pack the perfect punch. Giving my 3 best dishes for this truck is a little tricky because there aren't really diverse "entree" courses to choose from. But I don't think that matters because you can't go wrong here--even the tofu is flavorful, which is a tricky feat to achieve.  You won't regret your visit to TaKorean.
