If you've heard of Georgetown, chances are you've heard of Georgetown Cupcake. And that pains me. I just don't understand why people wait in line for more than ten minutes for a mediocre, over-priced cupcake with an incorrect frosting to cake ratio.
When I see those people, waiting in line in the hot sun, mid-summer, I just want to yell at them "Don't wait in this line and be stupid. Just go to Baked and Wired!" Baked and Wired is only a ten minute walk down M street, and the cupcakes there are 10x better and about 4x larger. And Baked and Wired cupcakes are only 75 cents more expensive! It's common sense, really. Baked and Wired is always the way to go.

Baked and Wired also offers a variety of other sweets including brownies (peanut butter, nutella, cream cheese, espresso, pecan brown butter, and more), bars (s'mores, shortbread, lemon squares, buckeye and more), biscotti, pie, cookies, and donut muffins (Baked and Wired mixed their pastries way before the Cronut was even born). Their coffee is also phenomenal and they've got a variety of herbal and iced tea options.
My top 3 sweets (it was very, very hard to pick just three):
1. Pretty Bitchin' Cupcake -- Chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting.
2. Chocolate Doom Cupcake -- Pretty much what it sounds like (chocolate on chocolate).
3. Donut Muffin -- The Cronut's cooler older brother.
